Mammillaria prolifera also known as M.Pringlei is a stem covered cactus. The stem of this plant is covered with golden spines which can display occasional curling. Rings of pink flowers surround the upper surface during the summers. The flowers emerge from the tips of the glochids, which are barbed hairs that break off easily upon contact, ensuring the plant reproduces through animals, rather than by wind or self-pollination.
The plant prefers dry soil and direct sunlight but should be protected from frost. The plant should be kept moist for the initial 60 days until the roots are established. Also, the plant should be planted in a wider pot to accommodate its large size when it grows.
These are 1-year-old plants and 5cm in height at the time of delivery.
