Golden Barrel Cactus (Grusonii)
The Echinocactus grusonii, also known as the golden barrel or mother-in-law's cushion, is an endangered species of cactus that grows in Mexico. It is grown as an attractive feature plant for its large yellow or orange flowers, and because of its unusual form, which looks like a ball covered with spikes. It is popular as a potted plant and to make cut flower bouquets.
With its gorgeous golden hue and distinctive spherical shape, the Echinocactus grusonii is a beacon of splendour in the garden when in bloom. This species is a popular houseplant and can grow to a maximum height of 1 meter (3 ft). It is a fast-growing plant that requires a lot of sunlight and regular watering, but it will survive on neglect.
