Its unique rosette shape isn't the only thing that makes this succulent fascinating—the thick leaves that come to a point range in colors from purple to black, to even pinkish tones with a thick overlay of powdery wax. This natural wax coating helps the plant tolerate direct sun. And like most succulents, this uniquely-shaped plant grows best in full sun with low-moisture soil that's well-drained. It thrives with bright light and deep, infrequent water. These are suitable to be grown in tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions.
