Moses In The Cradle
Referred to by many names like Moses in a boat, Moses lily, cradle lily, oyster plant, and Moses in the bullrushes, the plant traces its origin to Mexico, West Indies, and Central America. The colorful plant is efficient in producing rosettes of long, waxy, sword-shaped leaves.
The leaves have a shade of green or green-purple white striped on top with rich purple color filling the underside. The glossy appearance plant has 3 petal flowers blooming in the leaf axil settling comfortably in boat-shaped bracts.
A sack of all-purpose houseplant potting mix is enough to supply necessary nutrients. The bright indirect sunlight throughout is required for good color. The temperature should be anywhere around 65 to 80 degrees F but can tolerate a temperature of 55 degrees F.
Keep it moist from spring to fall and in winter let the potting medium dry out in between watering.
