Black Country Pride I Floribunda Rose
Black Country Pride Rose is a bushy, deciduous shrub with thorny stems that bear compound pinnate leaves divided into naturally shiny, toothed, dark green leaflets and clusters of lightly fragrant, double, mauve to lilac-pink flowers from late spring to autumn. Blooms in flushes throughout the season that will make a glorious impact in gardens.
Black Country Pride Rose, Bred by Frank R. Cowlishaw (the United Kingdom, 2007), is loved for its dramatic feature that can be deciduous or semi-evergreen shrubs or scrambling climbers. This rose was named to represent the Black Country's hopes and aspirations. The term "Black Country" dates back to the 1840s, and it is thought to have derived its name from the black soot emitted by the heavy industries that covered the area.
Some suggested uses are Beds and borders, City, Cottage/Informal, Low Maintenance, Wallside and trellises.
