Ophiopogon
Ophiopogon, often known as lilyturf or mondo grass, is a grassy evergreen perennial plant that grows to a height of 15 to 30 cm. They are not closely related to the genuine grasses, the Poaceae, despite their grasslike appearance. It is planted as an ornamental plant that provides great groundcover in a shady location, as well as for container displays and underplanting trees and shrubs. They feature long, narrow dark green or purple leaves and pale lilac flowers that bloom in a small raceme on a 5- to 1-cm stalk in the middle of summer. Other low-growing perennials or bulbs look well with the leaves.
