Karen Blixen Rose | Hybrid Tea
A spectacular, hardy Hybrid T rose which produces high centered, double white blossoms that are lightly fragrant.
This is a deciduous shrub that grows to 4’ in height and 3’ in width. All through the summer months it forms pure white flowers set against semi-glossy foliage. It was introduced in 1994. This rose cultivar was named after Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke, who lived from 1885-1962. She authored the non-fiction book entitled Out of Africa which detailed her joys and hardships of rural life.
This rose should only be grown in full sunlight. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments.
Reported to have resistance to the common rose diseases.
